Your Closet

Closet Cleanse

What to Expect

If you’ve tried and failed to pare down your wardrobe before, you know how overwhelming the task can seem. A cluttered closet can feel distracting and frustrating.

With professional help, a closet cleanse doesn’t take nearly as long as you might expect. By the end of our session, you will have a closet that is efficiently organized, and a wardrobe that is more aligned with your style goals.

My Process

Our first step is to sort every item of clothing into categories of ‘Keep’ or ‘Donate’. Alternative categories include ‘Alter’ or ‘Sell’ for items that don’t quite fit right, or are too special to give away.

  • When deciding what to keep, we will discuss what purpose the item holds for you, and consider if it aligns with your desired wardrobe. This may include trying the items on, and seeing if it fits the way you’d like it to or not.

Next, once we have a “Keep’ pile established, your clothing will be reorganized into your closet in a manner that is most efficient for your lifestyle and routine:

  • When items are not easily visible and accessible, you may be prone to buying multiples, and are also less likely to put things back where they belong, if it’s not simple to do so.
  • Before we part, I will leave you with tips and tricks for keeping your closet fresh and organized.
  • If you have items that need alterations, I offer my clients alterations at a discounted rate.

Lastly, I will drop off your clothing donations for you, and mail you the tax receipt!

Pricing

A clean and organized closet can bring a priceless sense of serenity and peace to your daily routine. But it doesn’t have to cost a small fortune. It is important to me to help those who need it the most, and that often includes those who don’t have the luxury of time to organize, or the means to hire expensive services.

1 session (3.5 hours total): $168.00

  • The number of sessions you choose depends on the size of your closet. If you would prefer to book 1 session and see how it goes, you are welcome to book one at a time.
  • Each session is 3 hours of organizing work, and includes time at the beginning and the end to discuss our goals and next steps. (Please allot 3.5 hours.)

If we go over by a few minutes, do not worry! No charges will be added to your session unless you request additional time.

Personal Shopping

I hear a lot of people say they “hate shopping”. I think the extended explanation is- “I don’t know what looks good on me”, “I don’t know where to look”, or “I don’t have time to shop”. Here is where a personal shopper comes in!

The Process

I will speak with you in depth about your lifestyle and needs, your personal preferences, and can also share helpful tips regarding silhouettes and body types. Then I will go out and find the right pieces to enhance your wardrobe- I place these items on hold for our session, so when it’s time for you to join me, all you have to do is try them on!

This option is a great follow up after a Wardrobe Edit, where together we review the current items in your wardrobe. This enables you to know what you already own, so you’re not buying multiples, as well as makes space in your closet for your new items, by purging the items that do not align with your wardrobe goals.

What’s included

Consultation before our session

2-3 hour shopping experience (with selections already pulled)

Follow up consultation and check-in

Personal Shopping session: $250.00

Your Home

Home Organization

What to Expect

Home is the place you begin and end each day. It should be a place to re-charge, and not a place that drains you of energy. With my help, we will declutter and organize your space back into the serene, functional home it was meant to be.

Diving In

The first thing you need to know is I absolutely love organizing. This means when you are feeling panicked about tackling the overflowing drawers and cupboards, I am feeling excited- so you can relax! Another thing to know, is I have endless patience. I will sit with you while we sort each item, or you can go on about your day while I sort by myself (this way tends to go faster!)

I understand that letting someone into your untidy spaces can feel very personal and vulnerable. I will always treat you and your belongings with respect, and never criticize or judge- its hard to make the decision to get organized, and I want it to be a pleasant experience that brings you joy!

My Process

The first step of decluttering is to comb through all of your item for things that don’t need to be there- this is how we initially make space.

  • Some items are simply not in the most efficient place, while other things may be empty, broken, or no longer serve a purpose- those can be donated or discarded.
  • For many, this can be a difficult step. It can be hard to let go of things that carry memories, expectations, or even monetary value. I can help you make decisions about what stays and what goes.

The second step is to reorganize your items into their most efficient and sensible locations in your home.

  • One of the most important transformations, is making sure every single item has a place it belongs, or a “home”- that way if you find this item out on a table or on the floor, you will be able to quickly and easily return it to its rightful place.
  • Many people acquire things and never give them a “home”, and that can lead to piles and stacks of miscellaneous items.

Lastly, at the end of our sessions I offer to help you take your unwanted items to the nearest donation center!

One thing you may notice about my website, is the lack of ‘before’ and ‘after’ photos. While these are extremely satisfying to look at, I generally try not to begin our time together by taking photos of your very personal spaces! I like to focus on making your space more peaceful and efficient for you, and that does not always mean pinterest-worthy photos, or tedious systems that you’ll have to keep up after I’m gone. (For example, have you considered the extra steps it takes to empty all your dried goods into those beautiful glass jars every time you go grocery shopping?) That said, I am a creative at heart, and am always inspired to create beauty in everything I do, so if glass jars and color-coded labels is what you’re after, I will happily oblige!

1 regular session (3.5 hours total): $168.00

1 extended session (5 hours total): $240.00

1 maintenence session (1-2 hours): $48/hour

  • you will decide which room(s) or areas you would like to have organized. It can be your entire home, or perhaps just your living room, kitchen or office, to start.
  • The length and number of sessions you choose will depend on the size of your space, and the depth you’d like to organize.

I like to work with clients in sessions as opposed to packages, because it gives the flexibility to take on as much or as little as you are able. Some larger spaces (like sheds and garages), will take multiple sessions to complete. If you would prefer to book 1 session and see how it goes, you are welcome to book one at a time.

  • Each regular session is 3 hours of organizing work, and includes time at the beginning and the end to discuss our goal and next steps. (Please allot 3.5 hours.)
  • An extended session is available for those spaces that need more time to dig into- like big kitchens and garages.
  • Maintenance sessions are available to any regular clients who’ve completed at least 1 regular session. I never want my clients to feel like they are “failing” at organizing just because they find their space messy again after a period of time. The truth is, being organized requires some regular maintenance, and occassionally we get too busy to keep up with our systems of order, no matter how simple they are. Let me help you get back on track- I can file the growing pile of papers, clear off your kitchen counters, and separate & sort your child’s toys back into their proper homes.
  • If we go over by a few minutes, do not worry! No charges will be added to your session unless you request additional time.

Elissa changed the quality of my life. She led me through a systematic and painless process, streamlining my closets and cupboards. She listened to my needs and helped me put systems in place that fit my lifestyle. I am so grateful for the gentle and non-judgmental way she brought grace into a process that has caused me angst for most of my life. I wish that I had found her sooner, I feel like I can accomplish so much more now that my space reflects my desires.

-Adeeba R.

” Elissa is awesome! She not only helped me declutter and organize my apartment but worked with me to figure out why the clutter builds up in the first place. Together we used tools and thought processes to figure out where it makes sense, for me personally, to put items or clothing when they are done being used. I definitely feel more calm and in control of my space. It has made a huge difference.”
